About
Xavier WANG
AI Researcher & Doctoral Researcher in Disaster Science
Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences
Academic publications: Lili Wang
I am a researcher moving from computer science into disaster science. For me, artificial intelligence is not a technology demonstration detached from reality; it is a way to understand complex systems, work with uncertainty, and support action.
My research begins with mountain hazards and focuses on the relationship between data, models, and physical processes: how change can be detected from remote-sensing and spatiotemporal observations, how world and generative models can represent and simulate evolving processes, and how research can become usable systems.
Photography extends the same way of observing—an attention to terrain, scale, light, and fleeting moments. MIND · MODELS · MOTION is therefore not an isolated slogan, but a framework connecting my research, engineering, and visual practice.
