My academic path began in computer science and has now moved into the interdisciplinary field of disaster science. In my approach to research, artificial intelligence is a scientific method for understanding complex systems, quantifying uncertainty, and supporting real-world decisions, rather than a technical showcase detached from real problems.
My research focuses primarily on mountain hazards and the relationships among data, models, and physical processes: how to identify signals of land-surface change in remote-sensing imagery and spatiotemporal observations; how to use world models and generative models to represent and simulate the buildup, occurrence, and evolution of hazards; and how to translate these research findings into deployable, operational engineering systems that support hazard monitoring, early warning, prevention, and mitigation.

Shifang Black Fungus Industry Field Research and Community Project

A joint project of PolyU, Sichuan University, and the city of Shifang. Conducted field visits on black fungus cultivation and local industry conditions, and compiled research material for development analysis and support planning.
